Not satisfied with an Epic mount (see below), Fugg has set out on an insane but brilliant quest. Shattered by being torn apart by the evil Somnus, vengeance called, and now Fugg is taking down Every. Single. Elite. Dragonkin. All of them.
Read the full story in Fugg's fantastic journal, There Be Dragons.
And Fugg, know that all of Midnight's Children are behind you on this quest, you have but to ask and we will be there...

/cast Sunder Guild

This weekend saw a momentous change in the Guild, when in consultation with Paxmortis, the power & progression raiders decided to leave Midnight's Children and create Disposable Heroes. As many would have seen from the email discussions, the diverging interests of the progression & casual players meant that a single guild was always going to struggle to contain both. The impending release of WotLK has bought this to the fore, hence the great guild sundering.
Paxmortis and DH Guild Leader Blackheathen have forged a strong bond, and the relations between the two guilds will always remain. I'm sure that DH will welcome with open arms any MC members ready to make the move to more hardcore playing if and when the time comes. All of MC wish DH great success in Northrend, I'm sure they will do their MC heritage proud.
So where does this leave Midnight's Children?
No doubt everyone has a different answer to this question, but the main emphasis seems to be that MC is a casual, easy going group. We will each want to investigate Northrend at our own pace, with no pressure on anyone to 'keep up'. If you want to spend your time herb gathering, fishing, rep grinding or power levelling, it's all xool.
We will try and continue the Thursday night instances as a regular thing, though for the time being we will struggle due to the lack of a Main Tank. The Rahjin Philosophy sounds like a good plan - we will try and schedule some five mans as people move through Northrend, and if you're at the right level then you can jump in and play.
A MT is going to be a priority, and my thinking is that a Death Knight is going to be the easiest way to get there. Having said that, we have Fugg (currently specced Arms) and Ironbear (specced Resto), both of who could theoretically move into the MT role if they were interested. But again, there is no pressure to do so if that is not the way you want to roll. Personally, I'm interested in creating a DK and playing it MT, but it will be another few months before s/he would be ready to rock.
Given no tank, in the meantime we can do whatever people are interested in. The Brood will continue on it's merry way, and maybe Thursdays can be dedicated to non-combat pet pickups (Worgs ftw!), achieving achievements, minstancing, etc etc. Something like what these guys are aiming for sounds pretty good. Proposals for Thursday night activities are more than welcome!
As it stands, the guild Elder are now made up of Paxmortis, Fugg, Rahjin, Stroeb, and Neitzsche (welcome back!). Then there are multiple members of the Swarm coming up rapidly, the main three being Ironbear a 63 Tauren Druid, Grizell a 51 Blood Elf Warlock, and 60 Orc Shaman Exemplar. And of course the Brood, hanging around in the 30's and loving every minute.
So big changes, and the guild chat is a lot quieter now, but MC will continue and hopefully thrive. Bring on WotLK and all those new fish!

Worg Pups!
A spontaneous raid formed last night to delve deep into Blackrock Spire and tame the best non-combat pet in the game for Neitzsche, Chivdoc, Fugg & Ironbear. Led by fearless (and already pupped) Spencacon & Stroeb, it was literally a blast. Chiv & Spenc destroyed everything in their path with glee, Spenc relishing the MT role, whilst Fugg & Stroeb were merely passengers wiping up the mess.
And the end result is priceless:
New guild requirement?!
There's a great pictorial guide to getting your own Worg - and the not so charming Smolderweb.
If you're quick, you can study the combat stats - Spenc putting out 50% of the DPS and taking 50% of the hurt! And Ironbear outhealing Neit - mainly as at 62 he had to heal himself all the way through just to stay alive!

Welcome
A wipe-filled Midnight's Children welcome to Olrotty, newly joined Undead Shadow Priest (and another member of MC's Tailoring Specialty Service). As you would have read below, Olrotty's initiation into the Guild was Sunday's Prince wipe-fest. Anyone who can make it through that is gtg!
Welcome, and May the Dark Lady watch over you.

Incoming
A huge Midnight's Children welcome Interseptre and Spencacon, recent recruits to the Guild
Interseptre is half-MC member Spinafex's Undead Warrior alt, and is heartily welcomed to the Tanking ranks - MC must be just about the only guild out there with more Tanks'n'Healers than anything else - ftw!
Spencacon, Undead Mage, is well know already to many of us from some brilliant dps-topping PuGs, so it's great to have him formally in the ranks. Will be entertaining to watch Pax and Spenc cancel each other out with their Frost & Fire specs respectively.
Well met, good to see more Undead signing up, and May the Dark Lady Watch Over You.

MC Flurry
A flurry of recruiting recently has seen several new members step up to embrace the MC "Wipe" methodology of Instancing.
Huge welcome first to Revelatiƶn, good friend of half-member Spinafex. Rev is an Undead Priest with Kara and Heroic xp, who brings either 1.1k Shadow damage or over 2k heals to the table.
And a massive welcome to Derb, nicely geared Tauren Druid with experience in Kara and beyond, and friends with Spini and ET. Derb's already been invaluable with his tips in Kara.
We are now nearing the numbers for a full guild Kara run, on the right nights. May the Dark Lady watch over y'all!

Chivdoc the 'lock
A big welcome to Chivdoc, newly joined Blood Elf Warlock, who brings some Destruction lovin' to Midnight's Children. And, thankfully, another Tailor for the sweatshop...

Midnight's Breeding
Eagle-eyed guildsters will have noticed some new accomplices have joined the Children. First up is Hellblaze, an Undead Mage of some renown, and another Tailor for Midnight Clothing :-) He brings his compatriots Eternalize, a Blood Elf Priest with a Jewel fetish (and some tailoring expertise, so as not to be left out!), and young Tauren Druid Sharpest.
Our first proponent of MQoSRDPS also joins us - Blood Elf Hunter Irational, joining Stroeb on the Leatherworking roster.
And filling out the roster is Xantir's long lost cousin Xanoth, a junior Blood Elf Warlock finding his accursed way through Azeroth.
Welcome to Midnight's Children one and all, and may the Dark Lady watch over you...

Neitzsche the Primal
Not to be outdone by Pax, Neitzsche too has stepped up to the 375 Tailoring plate and equipped himself with some purpz:
Hit Rating 0. But who needs it: +1103 Healing and a 10.84% Heal Crit chance means The Elder are bowing down and praying to Neit...
- Primal Mooncloth Shoulders
- Primal Mooncloth Robe
- Primal Mooncloth Belt
- Whitemend Hood
- Shattered Sun Pendant of Restoration

Paxmortis the Icelord
Tailoring is complete.
375. Eight purple items, socketed and ready to rock. All new Frozen Shadoweave Shoulders, a Frozen Shadoweave Robe
, a Belt of Blasting to hold up the Spellstrike Pants, and a pair of Frozen Shadoweave Boots. Combined with the Destruction Holo-gogs, a Seer's Signet, and of course the Gladiator's War Staff.
+654 Damage, +833 Frost Damage. 17.76% Crit chance, Hit Rating 135 (bring on the raid bosses)...
And -
Went from 3100g to 45g in one sitting!
But it's worth it. Denmother said something interesting... He said once you reach 70 WOW stops being about creating the perfect character and shifts to creating the perfect group. Pretty xool philosophy.
I'll miss Enchanting, but Tailoring is the best for the group and therefore Pax. Bring on the Heroics.
(In an epic display of Guild leadership, Paxmortis dropped super high Enchanting for Tailoring...and lived to tell this tale)

The Early Days
(Having recently upgraded to some +int gear, our legendary tank Blackheathen has learnt to write, and put pen to paper to create a brilliant early history of his WoW experience...)
First words that come to mind are L2P NOOB. We were the epitome of noobs when we first started WOW all those months ago. After many lunchroom discussions Michelle and Wayne (Dierdron) eventually managed to convince Fugg and Myself to enter into our first MMORPG. I must admit to taking more convincing than the others to join up lol, what did I do with all my time back then???
My first night on was unfortunately a Tuesday, server shutdown FTL. I still managed to get out and ding a few lvls, get pwned in a duel by a mage 2 lvls below lol and start gearing up with a few fantastic white, unsoulbound items WOOOT. At the end of my second night online I reached the dizzying heights of lvl 6 thanks to the help of our other mighty warrior, Fugg.
Thursday night, our first night meeting up the tavern at Brill, all the excitement during the workday building up to it (some of which even started viscous office rumours as I yelled out to Michelle before heading home, "Hey, see at the tavern at Brill at about 8:00 ok?")
Finally we all meet up, just the 4 of us at that stage, Fugg, Blacky, Helouise (Niet's mage main in the early days) and Dierdron. This was the first time I had ever ventured out of Deathnell and seeing Helouise at lvl 10, a full 4 lvls above, I must admit to being more than a little intimidated. Finally we managed to group up, hours later I learned how to use party chat, FTL.
So, off for our first little adventure as a party. Murlocs were on the menu as we continued on our first of many many many apocothery quest chains. As you can imagine, party tactics, any tactics, aggro etc, were all things we would learn about much later. Needless to say, Blacky and Fugg made their way back from the graveyard in good time. Not something that would always be the case. Fugg had one particularly humorous episode where he was running around lost as a ghost for a considerable length of time before learning how to use the minimap and the arrow to guide you back to your corpse. Starting an alt much later I can't quite figure out some of the paths we used to take getting back to our beaten corpses at the infamous Agamand Mills. They really aren't very far but somehow we managed to make it into a 5 min round trip lol.
We slowly progressed through the Tirisfall glades, moving with WASD and mouse clicking lol FTL. We also began finding bits and pieces of info on the net and learnt a little about how to play our classes and roles in groups etc. We also started hearing rumours of the mighty RFC, an instance??
It was around this point that our Mage, the mighty Paxmortis arrived on the scene and Helouse left us to be replaced by Neitzsche, the ugliest, deadest, baldest headed priest ever. Now with a full party of 5 we were ready for an assault on the Scarlet Monastary, at lvl 12 lol. Sure we were getting one or two shotted but hey come on guys, one more try?
After a few weeks came our first trips into Silverpine Forest, "man you have to go check out Silverpine, have you been? there are like lvl 12 Wolves in there LVL 12!!!!!!!!!". So began our progression away from our birthplace of the Deathnell. Somehow we managed to get ourselves up to the Sepulchre and wtf there are bats? There is some quest to go to a place called Undercity, where the hell is that? So off we go on our first bat ride, WOOOOOT what a rad experience. But then hey what is this place?, how am I ever going to find my way out of here? Ok don't wander too far, just hand quest in and jump on the bat back to the safety of the Sepulchre, phew.
Silverpine was also the home to our first nemsis, Son of Arugal. A roaming lvl 24 elite (nerfed to 20 elite in patch 2.3, this game used to be hard lol) that killed us all, over and over, as a group or individually.
A few memorable moments in Silverpine include Dierdron, down at the wreck, drowning inside the wrecked boat unable to figure out how to swim up. Paxmortis blowing up Moonrage Whitescalps (werewolf type mobs) with exploding sheep, oh the irony lol. As well as action packed group fishing sessions. After finishing up a few quests at the Sepulchre one night we all jumped on a bat to head to UC much to the dismay of Fugg who was left standing at the bat handler unable to fork out the 10 copper for the bat ride.
Around this time that we also began to get rolling with our professions and skinning, mining and making dynamite, armour, bags out of all the copper, stones, cloth and beasties we came across. Helouise and Paxmortis even started making gold, GOLD!!!!!!!!!!
Some of us, Dierdron was the first I believe, discovered Zeppelins and a whole new continent. Soon enough we began to venture into the infamous Barrens, the land of CHUCK NORRIS. This was the scene of my first meeting with the mighty Beastheart, until about lvl 60, always this almighty being of godly power, sooo many lvls above.
Apart from a little adventuring into the Barrens we continued to work our way through Silverpine and edge ever closer to the magic lvl 20. We soon began talking up our chances of getting some revenge on Son of Arugal. Our first few attempts ended in dismal failure but finally, after a few more lvls we got him. Ok guys, lets take him out, buffed, everyone ready, CHARGE. It still took us a while and I think I may have even died the first kill but he was down and we got to feast on his bloodied flesh. WOOOOOT, what a moment. Maybe not to be surpassed until Nazan in Hellfire Ramparts.
Finishing all the group quests in Silverpine was a great moment and one that would very rarely be repeated. We were soon to learn that there are just too many areas and too many quests to do them all. This was also the end of questing in Horde territory. A whole new world of getting ganked by ?? allies awaited us, especially as we took our first few innocent steps into the notorius Killsbrad I mean Hillsbrad Hills.
More to follow.

The Magic Number
We have a winner: Beastheart dinged 70 at 02:35 this morning! Our first seventy FtW!!
Congratulations and may the wind always be at your back. Beastheart is a legend on Barthilas, and Midnight's Children have prized the alliance forged between Beast and Paxmortis. Though Pax might be a little miffed by Beast getting there first!
In other progress news, Blackheathen & Fugg are both at 68 now, with Neitzsche not far off the pace on 67, and Paxmortis at 66. Stroeb, as usual, is tailing behind on 64, whilst Rahjin has entered Outland at 60. And as befits his class, Silentndead is sneaking up on 58.

Seventy /'sevuhntee/
We have a number of Guildsters - and one Guild contractor - approaching the magic number...any bets on who will ding first?
Blackheathen - 65
Beastheart - 66
Fugg - 66
Neitzsche - 64
Paxmortis - 63
Stroeb - 61
Even Rahjin (53) is an outside chance if he resigns from the rest of life...and everyone else quits!
